Today is National Donut Day... which made me think of this incredibly fun baby shower (or "baby sprinkle") that we had the privilege of throwing this spring.  One of the main reasons I love events is because each one is tailored specifically to the honored guest, and celebrating what makes that person unique is a really fun experience to me.

One thing that the honored mama, Kelly, loves is donuts!  Now this was also supposed to be a baby "sprinkle" since it was for baby girl numero dos, until all the ladies got a little carried away with all the baby things... But besides that, we were going for a "sprinkle" which made the color palette of a sprinkled donut an easy choice.  Also, Kelly chose a gorgeous floral print from Little Unicorn for the nursery so we wanted to incorporate that, too!
For the invitations, I handlettered the font and then Sarah digitally turned it into a floral print. (See more from my calligraphy business at Swan Lindsey Lettering.)  Then we used a coupon to have them printed! Cha-ching, so cheap and great quality!

I used a grey Pentel color brush on the envelopes with a watercolor palette for details, and then my favorite part... pink sprinkle washi tape for the win.  I'm still trying to think of more uses for that.

Sarah (Gold Leaf Floral) then did the bright flower arrangements (incorporating lemons for fun!) and made a fresh flower name installation using marquee letters. After removing the hardware and bulbs (and saving them for later to be reassembled), she lined and filled them with oasis flower foam.

Unfortunately once the letters were hung upright, they still barely leaked water... so that's something to always consider when picking your floral containers, folks. These things are tricky!

We had the best brunch with tons of fruit, veggies, quiche, and the shining star... mixed berry stuffed french toast.  Yeah don't think about that too long.

Amanda opened up her gorgeous home and created some extra sweet details.  One of which was these mini "baby mugs" as party favors personalized with names by using sharpie markers and baking them.

I've decided that I'm over the etiquette of only first-born babies getting the good baby showers... Fun parties for aaaall, I say!
