Today I sit here baffled by the fact that I'm about to have a two year old. Around this time two years ago, I was having not just one but THREE amazing baby showers from the end of August to the beginning of September. Mainly that was due to having giant families... but still! Yesterday I stumbled across these gorgeous pictures taken by the endlessly talented Morgan Trinker -- photographer, expert home-remodeler, and (as you can see) President of Flawless Parties. This shower was a co-ed party thrown by some amazing friends from our church, and it was so fun having the guys there to celebrate. I mean, there's a place in life for a 3-hour shower where everything gets passed around and ooed and ahhed about by all your great aunts... BUT this laid-back, dad-inclusive party was so much fun for me. I think everyone should have a co-ed shower like that... football on the TV and all. My favorite details were definitely the hand-sewn animals from my friend Lesley (and some from Etsy)... the nursery mobile assembled by Will & Helen (Right? My memory is failing!)... all of the vintage camping/picnic items integrated by Morgan... the handlettered invitation from Kelly of Spindle Photography... Roald Dahl inspired details... and plaid, plaid, plaid!!! Give me all the plaid. AND there were apple cider mimosas (not pictured) which I had to mourn only getting one sip -- the first mimosa I truly loooved! ALSO, apparently I was guessing there would be a camping theme, because I dressed as a big, green pregnant tent. haha! Don't worry, having a baby is so worth being your best chubby self. Even years later, I'm still so thankful for this day of celebration, and I'm happy to have a blog that exists now so I can share and reminisce! Related Posts.
