One day I was in Sephora desperately trying to find a dry shampoo for my "reddish" hair. I couldn't find a product I had once used, and the employee said, "Oh this one will work GREAT for you!" So I blindly trusted and bought it.
It ended up being just the clear kind that doesn't look all white and dusty but also wasn't for dark, brunette hair, and it did not work very well. This set me out to google to find an alternative, and I read that cinnamon with a starch could do the trick. You KNOW with all the pumpkin-baking going on in this household we have cinnamon! So I decided to try it. Now also -- just to clarify -- there are indeed dry shampoos that exist for redheads. I just needed something that week for my labor hospital bag, and didn't have time or money to go order, test, and possibly be disappointed. So if you're in a pinch like me... keep reading!

This week, two of my friends and I launched an instagram project --Gold Leaf Creative-- to document our "creative growth projects" (as I'm labeling it).
2017 Update: Now we have moved the account to be an official floral business, run by Sarah -- @goldleaffloral. I have a calligraphy account @swanlindseylettering, and you can find Brittny @brittnyrenephoto! We have all been learning and doing event planning/floral design/calligraphy/photography here and there, but never really felt like we had arrived as master artists. Well, duh! We aren't! But one night at a girls night we decided that shouldn't be holding us back, and we should work on more projects together. "Perfectionism is the enemy of learning, creativity, and innovation." |
