about the blog.
One day, my mom mentioned how she would make homemade hot dog buns when I was a child, which I seriously had no memory of... like not at all. Mom, are you lying?... Just kidding! All of that effort for a tasty, preservative-free bun, and I would've probably been happy eating one of those sick lunchables.. Being a parent is seriously like that saying, "Housework is something you do that nobody notices until you don't do it." Unless you are a wretched parent, your kid is just bee-boppin along without a care in the world... (or any gosh-darn-motherflippin' appreciation!)
But we know, WE KNOW, parenting isn't about appreciation. Parenting is when your heart lives outside of your body and you are glad to take care and give until you are blue in the face... without brushing your hair all day... and wearing yoga pants... Did I even remember deodorant today? I think so. This blog is for the support of all of those hardworking, creative parents out there who I hope to feature from time to time. It's also a creative outlet for me to try out new things (such as some family recipes that I was too oblivious and immature to learn when I was younger). And finally, when my kid(s) grow up and want to know what it was like for their parents, I hope this journal will tell the tale! See my first blog to read more about the road that led me here. |
